US Lacrosse, the national governing body of lacrosse, and MedStar Sports Medicine, a medical leader in Maryland and the Washington, D.C. region, announce the newest installment of their health & performance speaker series.
The new presentation will feature pediatric sports medicine and nutrition experts, Dr. Lindsay Jones and Dr. Kari Kindschi, who will share healthy eating and drinking recommendations for youth athletes on and before game day.
All are welcome to attend this free informational event at US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Maryland on Thursday, April 19. The one hour presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. and is designed to provide helpful information for lacrosse players and parents.
Due to limited seating, an RSVP via email is needed to reserve a spot.
Dr. Jones is a board-certified, fellowship-trained sports medicine physician who is also a board-certified pediatrician. She specializes in sports medicine primary care of children from infancy through college. Among her primary interests, Dr. Jones focuses on concussions, youth sports overuse injuries, and the impact of exertion on diet, bone loss and menstruation for female athletes. Dr. Jones also serves as medical director at Goucher College.
Dr. Kindschi is board certified in family medicine and fellowship-trained in sports medicine. She specializes in the non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and is an expert in medical issues that are specific to sports and exercise in athletes and active patients of all ages and skill levels. Dr. Kindschi is the medical director for Towson University Athletics.
Jones and Kindschi were both named as a 2017 “Top Doc” by Baltimore Magazine.
